Manufacturing Process of Ductile Iron Pipe

 Tapping of molten iron from

the induction furnace prior

to being treated with magnesium

to make ductile iron 

Melting

The formed ductile iron pipe

after being extracted from

casting the mould 

Centrifugal Casting

Pipes being fed into the

annealing furnace which

refines the metal structure

Heat Treatment

Pipes before the shot blasting

machine which cleans the out-

side of the pipe

Cleaning

The ends of the pipes are cropped

and chamfered

Cropping

All pipes are hydrostatically

pressure tested to ensure

they are leak free

Hydraulic Pressure Test 

Pipes are then galvanized with

hot spray zinc to further protect

them

Galvanizing

After zinc coating pipes are

cement lined before having their

final coating with bituminous paint
